So unfortunately I upgraded to Windows 10 and have nothing but problems since. The only one that I haven't been able to fix so far is the audio issue that comes with Windows I have tried both using the most up to date drives that I can find and using the generic ones that come with Windows 10 neither seem to work. No matter what I do the playback devices doesn't even recognize my headset as a device.

The headset itself doesn't show up in device manager, however the microphone on my Astro A40s via a splitter plugged into the front jacks does show up in the device manager and recording devices. The only thing in device manager for outputs is the "speakers". I also tried the sound troubleshooter and it only said to disable enhancements and then found no problems.
I also tried setting the microphone as the default and it didn't solve the problem either. Have you checked what the headsets speakers show up as in playback devices? It should show, hopefully, the speakers that the headset contains.Menu Menu. Search Everywhere Threads This forum This thread.

Message 6 of 7.Windows only lets you output audio to one device at a time. If you have more than one app playing audioWindows will route the audio stream through the same audio device.
This is something that can only be accomplished through a third-party app.
There are quite a few apps that let you output audio to two different devices however, for a free solution we recommend using Audio Router. Audio Router is a free, open source app that lets you send the audio output of an app to your device of choice. The audio devices must be configured correctly i. Install Audio Router and play audio in two different apps, or in separate instances of the same app. Run Audio Router and it will show you an interface that resembles the volume mixer in Windows.
Note the dropdown arrow under each app that is running, and the audio devices that you are configured on your system. Another small window will open with a dropdown for selecting the audio device that you want to route your audio to. Select a device. The audio from the app will be sent to the device you selected.
